Lt. Col. Dennis W. Huie began his employment with Forsyth County EMS in 1985 after one year in a reserve and part-time status.  He received his Certificate of Paramedic from Forsyth Technical Community College in 1987 and served as a Preceptor for students and new employees for several years. He attended the first “Certificate to Associate Degree” Bridging Course at Guilford County Community College in 1995, and received a B.S. in Emergency Medical Care from Western Carolina University in 2003.  Mr. Huie was promoted to Shift Sergeant in 1997 and to Shift Captain in 1998.  Since 1998 Lt. Col. Huie has completed numerous EMS Management and Special Operations classes provided at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD.  He assumed the position of Operations Officer in June 2001.

Lt. Col. Huie is the proud father of Sarah and Jonathan.
