Colonel Daniel L. Ozimek began his employment with Forsyth County EMS in 1977 as an EMT-A.  He graduated from Forsyth County’s second EMT-Paramedic class in 1979 and continued to work as a field Paramedic until 1988 when he was promoted to Lieutenant and assumed the role of Assistant Training Officer.  He was promoted to Captain in 1991 and assumed the Training Officer position.  Mr. Ozimek was promoted to Lt. Colonel in 1997 and assumed the Operations Officer position.  Colonel Ozimek assumed the position of EMS Director in 2001.

He is a graduate of both the EMS Management Institute at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the EMS Management Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland.  Colonel Ozimek has been a guest speaker at numerous statewide EMS conferences.  He is married, with two children and three grandchildren.
